Supporting Ukraine

Vasco's aid for Ukraine

The people of Ukraine are enduring an unimaginable tragedy: they’ve been forced to flee their homes to escape the dangers of Russian military aggression. As a result, since the onset of the crisis, many have been wondering how they can support Ukraine.

From assembling a specialized paramedic team to providing electronic translators to organizations supporting refugees, we at Vasco take pride in setting an example of how to assist those fleeing the war in Ukraine.

War is a nightmare. We should all do our part to help Ukrainian refugees experience the comfort and security of their homes, which they were forced to leave behind. To that end, we have carried out a variety of initiatives to make them feel as welcome as possible.

Here is how we helped Ukraine

Standing with Ukraine

In the early days of the conflict in Ukraine, Vasco Electronics donated our translator devices to hospitals and aid organizations

Vasco believes in the power of communication to foster understanding and support in times of crisis. That's why we've provided nearly 500 of our translation devices to over 200 charities, schools, and non-profits assisting Ukrainian refugees across Canada, Europe, and beyond.

In addition, Vasco Translator devices were utilized by 12 major hospitals in Poland.

Our devices also supported daycare centres for children, as well as non-governmental organizations assisting refugees in a variety of ways. These organizations would host workshops, sports events, and cultural activities, alongside offering medical care.

Cooperation with organizations and foundations helping refugees

We have established partnerships with numerous organizations across Europe that are dedicated to providing essential support to refugees.

Vasco Electronics collaborates with organizations like the Minority Rights Group International.

The foundation received 25 Vasco Translator M3 devices to be used in autumn 2022.

Also, one of the groups we supported was Fundacja Ocalenie (The Salvation Foundation).

Its mission is to assist refugees in building a new life in Poland by supporting their integration and personal development.

In need of a Ukrainian translator, Fundacja Ocalenie received three Vasco devices to facilitate effective communication with victims of the war in Ukraine.

We also collaborated with the Budapest Volunteer Paramedic Organization (Budapest Önkéntes Mentőszervezet Egyesület), a non-profit focused on enhancing the safety of Budapest's population. Additionally, our translators supported Fundația Inocenți București, a non-profit organization from Romania that offers various forms of assistance to children.

The Spanish Red Cross also received our translator devices.

Last but certainly not least, we worked with several hospitals, including the Východoslovenský Onkologický Ústav (Eastern Slovak Institute of Oncology) in Košice, Slovakia, as well as administrative bodies such as the District Office of Košice.

Helping Refugees Find Jobs and Shelter

In the first few days of the conflict, we opened a Facebook group to help refugees with finding employment and a new home Poland.

Vasco team members have demonstrated their commitment to helping Ukrainian refugees through personal acts of kindness.

Many have opened their homes to those fleeing the conflict, organized fundraisers to provide essential support, and volunteered their time to transport refugees.

PMM Vasco Emergency Team

The PMM Vasco Emergency Team, a joint effort between Vasco Electronics and the Polish Medical Mission, was established to provide urgent medical assistance in times of crisis.

Our initial focus was on aiding Ukrainian refugees, but we are committed to expanding our reach to support those affected by humanitarian emergencies around the world.

To further support the PMM Vasco Emergency Team's efforts, we launched a U.S.-based fundraiser, with $10 from each translator sale going directly team's operations.

Partnership with Drohobych Hospital in Ukraine

We've partnered with Drohobych Hospital to provide essential medical equipment, supplies, and furniture, including beds, stretchers, and trolleys.

In addition to delivering a modern field ambulance to Drohobych Hospital, PMM Vasco Emergency Team also transported over 20 tons of crucial supplies, including medical equipment, medication, and food, totaling over 2 million PLN in support.

Our efforts include providing medical supplies, translation devices, and humanitarian aid to those affected by the conflict. We believe in the power of compassion and action, and we are dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian people in their time of need.

Let’s support Ukraine every day and spread kindness. It will come back to us!
