Vasco Translators for Quinnipiac Students

Our collaboration with Quinnipiac University began with their Student Consulting Project, which sought to improve communication between international students and faculty.

Recognizing the alignment with our own mission, Vasco provided the university with Vasco Translator M3 devices, enabling students and staff to connect across cultures and languages.

Hurdles Faced by International Students

International students face numerous challenges when studying in the USA. They may need to learn a new language, adjust to a different culture, and build friendships in an unfamiliar environment, all while striving to meet their academic goals.

Recognizing this, Quinnipiac University took the extra step to improve communication with international students and their families.

How Vasco Translator Made a Difference

Vasco Translator M3 devices have been successfully integrated into Quinnipiac University, with students utilizing the Voice Translation feature for conversations and the Photo Translation feature to understand lecture materials and navigate their surroundings.

This has been particularly beneficial for students from non-Latin script backgrounds, such as Arabic speakers.

The Collaboration

Vasco Translators have been successfully integrated into two schools, one in Hamden and the other in New Haven, for three semesters, from the third quarter of 2021 to the end of Spring 2022. The positive feedback from both students and faculty highlights the effectiveness of Vasco devices in enhancing communication

"Many students appreciated having a dedicated translation device that didn't require them to share their personal phones," observes Professor Gedeon Werner from Quinnipiac University. "They also found Vasco Translators to be valuable tools for language learning."

Vasco Translators have proven its value for both students and faculty at Quinnipiac University. Faculty members used it to communicate with parents, while students value the user-friendly interface and the ease of navigating a new language and culture.
